I have been posting on various blogs for the last year about this issue — the term “virtual assistant” has become a catch-all for someone who does anything — in my humble opinion, mostly folks with no real experience who are looking for a quick way to make money from home. And, unfortunately, they are giving the rest of us a bad reputation.
I have worked in the legal field for more than 30 years. I’ve worked as a virtual assistant for a number of years — this is NOT an easy business to break into — and it’s not a given that you will be a success. When you fail, those clients for whom you failed will forever badmouth virtual assistants — something none of us who take this job seriously need.
Thank you for highlighting the fact that people need to give more thought to this issue.

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you down the road!
